The Dream Comes Alive for Hood as the new Athletic Center is unveiled before the public

On Friday, November 4th 2011, residents of Frederick and students of Hood College gathered together to welcome a new addition to the Hood College campus that has been in the works for the last year and has been conceived since longer.
On Friday afternoon, Hood College unveiled and opened the doors to their brand new Athletic Center, after a year of construction.
The new Athletic Center was something like the center of the universe and crowds from all over gathered to witness the crowning jewel to the local college under the leadership and management of President Ron Volpe.
The emphasis on Hood’s new structure may be the word “new” but that word could also be synonymous with the words “state of the art,” “upgraded,” “progressive,” and “mind-blowing.”
The structure features not only a new and improved basketball court named BB&T Arena, possibly to replace the basketball court in the still standing Gambrill Gymnasium, but it virtually has everything that Gambrill has, except a pool but that is in the works already, but only newer and slightly better.
